Measuring approximately 2-1/2 x 4", these (11) CDV type photos remain generally appealing, ranging in grades of (GD to VG-EX) with sharp images. (8) Of these c.1860s-1870s photos have photographer credits printed on the reverse, including one by Mathew Brady.

Commander Gershom J. Van Brunt (VG-EX), served as captain of the USS Minnesota, playing a major role in the Battle of Hampton Roads, more commonly known as the "Battle of the Ironclads" with the Monitor and the Merrimack (CSS Virginia)
Colonel Rush C. Hawkins taken by Brady and published by E.&H.T. Anthony (VG) with handwritten identifying notations on front and back, Hawkins help raise the 9th New York Infantry regiment, known as "Hawkins Zouaves", he was brevetted to a rank of Brigadier General of U.S. Volunteers in 1865
Colonel Newton Lord presents (VG-EX) with rounded trimmed corners at bottom, served with the 35th New York Infantry that fought at Antietam
Also present are (8) Union soldiers of various rank, including one with clipped corners, one with minor bits of album paper on the top edge and six that are above average
