Doing the math related to this tough set of Beatles trading cards adds up to a true collectible rarity. One of the original period tie-ins to the "Fab Four's" trippy 1968 "Yellow Submarine" animated feature, this series of Primrose Tea cards was issued one per box in packages of tea bags. Assuming 100 bags of tea per box and no duplicates, you would have had to gone through 6,600 bags of tea at a minimum to complete a set of (66) cards. If you used an average of 6 bags per day, it would take about 3 years to drink all that tea and if you started in 1968 when the cards were released, The Beatles band would have been disbanded for a year by the time you finished. That's an awful lot of tea, even for British folks.
Produced by Anglo Confectionery Ltd, this nearly impossible Primrose Yellow Submarine series is reported to have been available for a limited time only and judging from current availability, this is indeed a super-rare and highly valued set. Throw yourself a celebratory tea party when you claim this impressive 1968 Primrose Beatles Yellow Submarine complete set of (66) razor-sharp trading cards. Well centered throughout, this stunning set is bright and clean, with vivid colors and white borders. Only negligible to minor traces of corner wear are evident, otherwise this fresh set is problem free with an overall condition average of (NM to NM-MT). Decorated with groundbreaking artwork from the Yellow Submarine film, this set also features a fascinating puzzle formed by the card reverses.
