Best remembered for hitting the fly ball that would become "The Catch" in game 1 of the 1954 World Series, Vic Wertz put together a solid career including 4 All-Star appearances and 266 home runs alongside a .277 average. This size 7-1/8 Tim McAuliffe/KM Pro hat was worn by Wertz circa his 1959-1961 tenure with the Red Sox. The cap is navy blue with a "B" sewn on in red-on-white on the front. The bill reads "6 Wertz" in pencil and the hat itself indicates heavy game use including a visor that is dried out but uncracked. The sweatband is intact and has the label stitched into the rear opposite the KM trademark. LOA from Phil Wood for game use.
